There isn't one. The Internet is the ultimate open architecture peer-to-peer network. There is no "main" server.

The closest thing to a "main" server on the 'net would be the root DNS servers, of which I believe there are 13. DNS is used solely for name resolution.

there's not one main server. each website has a server. like www.xanga.com's is in New Jersey, www.apple.com's in in California. all of these servers together make up the internet.
