Professional sports are bad for society, this much is clear. They encourage passivity, causing people to spend their time watching others play games instead of doing things themselves. Even worse, they keep people unconscious, encouraging people to believe that the outcome of these sporting events is important when in reality it means nothing.

The powerful men who run this world want nothing better than for people to spend all their time focusing on these meaningless sporting events, so that their power and reign goes unchallenged. Should we give them what they want? I think not.

I propose that all professional sports be banned worldwide, and that all current professional athletes be imprisoned, or perhaps executed, to insure that no more sporting events can possibly go on.

This will encourage people to wake up and pay attention to the real things in life.

Are you with me?

Wow. That might be the WORST idea I've ever heard. Leaving aside all of the positive benefits of sport (and there are many), what right to we have to tell someone how they can make a living? (Assuming, of course, it is legal)

Evereyone has time forreal things watching sports actually engourages me to get out there and be like the players on t.v.You want to exacute pro sports players? Why is that?all they are trying to do is feed there family just like everyone else theyre just making more then you are for it.And it doesnt matter what you do with sports players there will always be new and better athletes that will rise no matter who you keep exacuting they will still be out there playing games. But you domake a good point about men i think if anything just men sports should be bannished because all these sports do for men is make there ego even bigger then it already is.At least when woman play its for the love of the sport and they are trying to prove we're just as good when woman play its not for the ego or the fame but for the love of the sport i feel if you play the sport for the passion you have for it it should be allowed but for any other reason it should be gone thankyou for giving me a better view on the world of sports you actually made an intreuging point.Sports are meaningless but not to the people that are good at them

Sorry i can't be with you on this one.
Sports are fun and they are what teaches people the spirit of competition, why should any athlete be punished for that, it is ok if you do not want to watch sports but you have no right to make people do the same. You seem like you have some kind of personal grudge against an athlete, or you are kind of insane.

If you believed your own words, you would be outside right now running around your house and doing jumping jacks instead of whinning to people online(while sitting on your *ss), mister passivity.

hey i just realized something, you are a scientologist aren't you, yeah that's it, your name has revealed your true self, that explains the erratic and non-sensical and extremist way you picture the world(i saw your other questions too, wow)

I think all kinds of sports are great. What I'd like to see is a ceiling put on the salaries of players and pass the savings on to fans. Also, the profits could support any number of activites for children/teens.

If I were a coach I would, and I think the decision should stay at that level. If your mind is more on twittering than the game I'll give you all the time you want to twitter on someone elses team or in free agency. If I send you in and you can't tell me what down it is without looking at the marker or the scoreboard what reason should I send you in

no because it's something we are all interested in. when we watch professional athletes they make us take that sport and, they help us by saying how good the sport is.

Your arguement is weak. It would never happened. I take it you have had a bad experience with sports, perhaps you have bad coordination, dad did not take you out to play catch? I dont' know. You know best.
