I am having some problems downloading .rar and .avi files on some websites they download as html documents, is there a way for my browser to regonize these as normal files and let me download them? I got Internet Explore.

I don't think you are downloading them from the right link!

DO NOT RIGHT CLICK AND SELECT "SAVE TARGET AS..."

let the browser automatically give you the popup for downlaoding else get a download manager!

you are saving them by right click and choose save target as....

it is not a way.

you have to go on that html page then you found a direct link when you click on that direct link then computer browser automatically give you option to save them or blocked (if blocked you can allow him by click on there)

try using firefox. also go to the file, right click on it, go to open with, then select what you would expect it to open with (like avi would open with real player)

Just download DIVX and WINRAR and you should be set...you can get each one from the Manufacturers website:
