Yes, and it was amazing. The Oilers fought to the very end, but the Canes managed to hold on and take the Cup. It was a classic series, and Game 7 may go down as one of the greatest ever, in my book. Kudos to the Oilers for not giving up when Dwayne Roloson went down. They could have given up after getting blown out in Game 2, but they fought back and pushed Carolina deep into the third period of the final game.
And yes, there were hockey fans long before the 'Canes came to Carolina, myself being one of them.

Yes I watched - here they opened two movie theatres to show the games while asking for food donations for food banks instead of admission. Great game 7, I was cheering on those Alberta Oilers! Oilers you did us proud. The Canes played a great game and Cam Ward another Alberta boy deserved the Conn Smythe Trophy!

Yes, I watched the game. It was great!! It was great to see the state of North Carolina win its first professional championship. The North Carolina Tarheels won the NCAA National Title this year, the Hurricanes won the NHL Title, now all we need for the Carolina Panthers to win the Superbowl!! You are right, it does snow here in North Carolina. We get our share.

I'm from North Carolina, I actually live like 30 minutes away from Raleigh... so of course I had to watch it. I had some family at the game, and they said that it was soooooo awsome. I wish I could have been there, it would have been the highlight of my year. I love the Canes and I love hockey and we deserved to win and I'm so glad that we did. Especially with everything happening Durham with the Duke case... We needed something to celebrate.

A change would be having the cup in Edmonton.
:)
I am glad that it was such an entertaining series and proud of the OILERS for making it to game 7.
Good Job to both teams!

Yeah I watched the game. I was rooting for the Oilers though... (I'm from Edmonton)
Don't worry about the snow thing. This year, it barely even snowed in Edmonton at all. Global warming, I guess...

Awesome game! Hurricanes deserved the victory last night. Congrats to Cam Ward for winning MVP, and the hurricanes for winning the Stanley Cup! I'm not a panthers fan though, so i could care less whether or not they win the superbowl.

i love the Canes! Im glad Brind-Amour, and Wesley got their day in the sunshine! to the answerer-er, sounds like sour grapes to me, like maybe somebody's favorite team didnt make it this year and also the comment "we needed it here for a change" is in reference to having it in North Carolina, not the USA. We are aware that the last time the cup actually resided in Canada was 1993

No. Nobody watchest the Canes. Anyway, the stupid lockout resulted in the whole season not being televised on normal stations. So I had no enthusiasm by the time I could watch two crappy teams play in the finals.

Yes!! It is officially HURRICANES season! :-) I felt bad for the Oilers and their fans, but man, seeing Rod Brind'Amour (and the rest of the 'Canes) celebrating with the Cup was awesome.
