Does anyone know how to change the hard drive on an HP Pavillion ZV5000 Notebook? Or know where I can get instructions?

Yes, throw the HP notebook away and get a real computer.... haha, just kidding. No really. If you bring it in to a Box store like Best Buy, they will save you time and the hassle of trying to change it yourself. Just pay them a few bucks and you'll be out the door in no time.

Enjoy

I have a ZV, you just open the back up with the screw and then take the hard drive out, replace exactly the same and screw the cover back over. If anything there might be a few wires in the way...just make sure theyre plugged back in. Watch for static but I never ground myself before doing work.

In most instances you have to remove the shell from the computer...I have only done thhis 5 times and it is definately not the easiest task in the world...I would suggest purchasing an exact replacement drive and ensure that you have a static wrist band and alot of patience.

Just turn the computer over and look for the harddrive door. Generally you'll have to unscrew a couple screws.

I'm sure you can get info on that model from http://www.hp.com.

Make sure you release all static from yourself before working on it, or you can destroy the system if it gets zapped. You do not have to feel the zap for electronics to fry out.
