Maybe you don't have to try downloading. You can do some Disk Cleanup, Disk Defragmenter and clearing your recent documents history, emptying recycle bin, clearing Internet search history, cache, etc.

If you want to do Disk Defragmenter, I suggest you do it during night time because this process could take lots of lots of hours. So just leave it on while you're sleeping. Go to Start > All Programs > Accessories > System Tools > Disk Defragmenter. Select the drive and click Defragment.

To clear recent documents history, right click Start menu > Properties > first Customize button > Advanced tab > Clear list button.

Doing all these tidying may just speed up your computer. Also, uninstall programs that you are not using and delete all the folder files in the Program files that you've just uninstalled.

I think there is no software that can make a system fast. Try some of these tips 1. Find and uninstall softwares that you don't use. There are some softwares that automatically download from some websites you visit (without the knowledge of user). 2. Run "disk clean up" then Disk Defragmenter - Location = ( START -> ALL PROGRAMS -> ACCESSORIES -> SYSTEM TOOL) for all hard drives on your system 3. Run Antivirus to see if the system is infected by viruses and delete them ( Viruses slow downs PC's) . 4. You might have installed Operating system or any software that does not match your RAM. I hope this will help you.

You can help speed things up by doing a disc cleanup and a defrag.

Start > programs > accessories > system tools > disc cleanup.
Put a check mark by everything and run it/

Same steps as above, system tools > defrag.
NOTE: This could take several hours depending on the size of the hard drive.

Go to www.ccleaner.com and download their free utility. It will clean out a lot more "junk files" as well as check the registry and "clean" that as well. I've used ccleaner for a long time and it's really good.

Finally, install as much RAM as you can afford (addditional memory sticks.)

Hope this helps.

Increase virtual memory of your machines.

Remove all system starup programs

If your machine is infected with spyware -download spybot to clean it up.

There is no such software made to boost your machine performance -

Cheers!

Optimize your memory. Go to Start, Run, "msconfig" start-up tab, and remove the unnecessary junk from loading at startup. This will free up resources and enable your system to run a little faster.

Do a defrag also.

Make sure you have enough memory. Upgrading memory can make a huge difference.

Boost raw performance with the suggestions above, and try Google's "Web Accelerator" for quicker web surfing.
