I've heard that a good way to make holes is to drag one of the blades from a pair of scissors or a razor blade across the areas that you want holes. Make sure you figure out where you want the holes while the jeans are on your body, then take them off and make the holes. Also, it might be a good idea to rough them up with a power sander a bit so the holes look more natural. In addition, consider where holes might naturally occur, such as the backside, the knees, etc.

think about where you want the rips, and start them off with little cuts with a pair of scissors and then get a brillo pad or some wire wool and rub the cut so it becomes all freyed.

There's loads of other methods to get damaged jeans, I saw a program where they tied them to the back of a car and drove around for a while.. they were messed up jeans!!

us a razor blade knife to run across the demin at an angel it will wear it thin the longer you rub it... thn it will create a "rip" if you want to go that far.. don't make it too big once it starts to rip wash it a few times and it looks great!

skim a razor blade over the jeans till they start to wear out then wash them...if that doesn't work than they should be worn out enough to where you can just scrap them on cender blocks that works too.

Tie a rope around yourself with your jeans on and have your friend pull you behind a car.

Try a cheese grater, scrape it over edges of pockets and seams and on the knee or thigh.

the best way is to cut holes in them and make little slits in them , then wash them a ton and they will get raggy looking and frayed.
