well depends if the two people are evenly matched then both will have to think a lot. on a daily basis the brai burns about 20-30% of your calorie intake so assuming the two players are evenly matched there will be a lot of thinking going on so that would mean the brain would burn a lot of calories. So I would say they would increase their daily calorie burn to 40-50%, which is proabably more than you expected. So they would burn 20-30% more

in soccer player runs...while in chess player has to run his whole army...
