Of course, everyone has heard about Big Ben and his tragedy, but what about the Steelers' number one draft choice? A potential big play wide receiver from Ohio State that has now been arrested twice since being drafted. Should the Steelers put a clause in his contract about off the field behavior? Should they go ahead and cut ties with him? Should they go forward, overlook his legal issues, and just worry about his performance on the field?

Being a huge Steelers fan, I think he has great on field potential, but these mishaps are definatly reason for concern. His 1st arrest for disorderly conduct, i'd say, isn't to much to worry about (whatever, he was drunk on a holiday weekend- so was I), but the latest domestic violence charge for alledgedly hitting the mother of his children, would be something the Steelers should look into more. I'd like them to give him a last chance and let him prove what he can do on the field, but excessively warn him about the consequences for his actions.

Santonio Holmes should gets his reins pulled in hard by Bill Cowher. This guy may have the WR potential similar to Randy Moss, but someone high up in the organization needs to prevent him from becoming another Minnesota Mishap. The Steelers could check with their lawyers and see about adding a "personal behavior" clause of some kind as a means to penalize him for every illegal action he partakes in and results in being arrested.

Just because he is a good football player does not excuse him from being a complete moron

Being a huge Buckeye fan i saw play week in and week out i know how great he can be so that being said..... One of the 3 Major pro sports really need to take a stand on letting screw ups in there league. I know this isnt a comparison but i love the way that the NBA implimented a dress code. These guys make so much more money then the average person and all they do is screw up.You cant keep letting Profesional leagues turn so damn ghetto

Just my opinion here, got to think that these guys are kids that get drafted. With the money that is thrown at them there are going to be some little things that happen. Slap him on the wrist but no need in the NFL getting involved but if he does not straighten up then it is time to start thinking about a trade to get him out. I am a Stellers fan and they really do not take to players doing things like this but I know they will work with him before letting him go.

Knowing the Rooneys - he may already be on his way out. Whether you love em or hate then - the Steelers are the classiest team in pro sports in America. They dont take crap form spoiled athletes and don't pay ridiculous contracts, on the whole.
Certainly after winning the Super Bowl and only losing Bettis - they dont "need" him, but he could be valuable for a trade.

I would tell him to go help Ohio State win a National Championship, but since he's no longer eligible, trade him to the Browns for a draft pick.

In my opinion, when they sign him they should include in his contract that if he has any other incidents like those two he will take a pay cut or lose a bonus or something. He as a person should be more responsible then he has been. Overall he'll stay and he'll probably be a good player but he needs to clean up his act plain and simple.

Deal with him as a person first and as a player second. He must agree to some sort of behavior modification action and be willing to submit to some counseling. He needs to realize he is now expected to behave as an adult. A productive citizen who happens to have a God given talent to play the game and has needs to accept the full responsibilities associated with the role he has sought.

Hes a young guy put him through conseling and guide him in the right direction. Let him know that if he continues his actions the organazation will cut ties with him. Young people usually make mistakes if he makes another one nobody will want to touch him the sad thing is pitt traded up to get him. GO LIONS

have you ever been gazing the Steelers? Sanders and Brown will be in simple terms effective. The Steelers pick to concentration on paying for adult males who preserve the bypass. Their protecting secondary sucks!!! they can't watch television, no longer to prepare a large reciever.
