I recently (within the last year) read the Idiot Girls Guide to the Action Adventure Club. I laughed outloud so many times. It's not a slow read, and I just couldn't put it down!
I also love the book the Last of the Really Great Whangdoodles. I read it when I was 12, and it my favorite book. It was written by Julie Andrews ubder her pen name of Julie Edwards. It teaches life lessons that you don't know are there until years after you have finished reading. I still read it once a year.

Hi there. I have a new hard cover fantasy book that you might like. It has received excellent reviews in the national media and is being considered for a movie deal. The title is THE BLACKGLOOM BOUNTY. It's 445 pages of action, adventure, magic, mystery and mayhem. If you like Conan style books, you'll like this one. A Hollywood producer told me last week that he would classify Blackgloom as, "Braveheart Meets Lord of the Rings."
If you'd like to try it out, I'll send you a FREE, 4 chapter eBook demo if you email me at FiveStarAuthor@aol.com. That way, you can see if you like the story or not without spending a dime. Cool huh?
Good luck, whatever you decide to read!

The Madman's Tale by John Katzenbach
It's the story of a man who returns to a mental institution in which he had been hospitalized years ago. They're having a reunion for the patients who had been cured there. While there he remembers a murder that took place but that he had suppressed. The details slowly re-emerge as he slips back into insanity. Awesome read. Awesome.

"The Fool's Tale" by Nicole Galland.
I picked it up on a whim at the bookstore a month or two ago and really liked it. The characters are fully developed, three-dimensional people caught up in a heartbreaking love triangle. It's a historical, but the author admits in her notes that she made up most of the story. She said she had the three main characters in mind long before she found a historical setting that fit them.

*The People of Paper* by Salvador Plascencia. Get the hardcover edition if you can. It's a crazy magical-realism story about a man who decides to go to war with Saturn because his wife left him (and he recruits the El Monte Flores to help him); on the other end, we discover that Saturn, the author of the book who is controlling the fate of all the characters, is keeping the war going because his girlfriend dumped *him.* The hardcover edition features little die cuts where Saturn cuts out the name of his rival.
