Its immoral and illegal, but hey its happening everyday here in Africa....You hear of a 60year old man getting married to 15 year old....like with these arranged marriages where you find that the Husband is Chief of that areas and the gal is forced to marry him to help her Father settle out his Debts. Its really common and i've started a NGO to bring awareness to the world and also help out the victims.

Many Asian and African cultures permit marriage at a very early age. In India it is very common in remote areas where western morality has not taken hold. Don't forget other countries that are underdeveloped do not have the lifespan we have and so their lives are compressed into a very short life cycle. God must have had a plan when he permitted females to conceive at such an early age. We shun taking children as brides but do not have the right to judge other cultures much older than ours. There are more abuses of children than we like to admit and marriage has nothing to do with it. We fail to protect our children in many fields while we spoil them and hold back their maturity to serve our egos.

Marriagble age is a function of cultural and social constructs.

When my grandmother was a young woman in the USA, marriages of women between the ages of 12 and 14 to men typically between 2 and 4 times the age of the woman were not uncommon.

It has been credibly reported that in various foreign countries, women today are allowed to marry even earlier than age 12.

The complexity of the issue derives from the societal tolerance of derelict parents, who do not from the birth of their respective offspring regard those children as sexual creatures, and

who therefore do not inculcate into those children the lessons vital to competent, independent management of personal sexuality, despite having ordinarily 10-12 years to accomplish that simple task.

In short, there are women that are competent to marry at age 12, whose bodies are sufficiently mature to enjoy without injury and whose minds are sufficiently sophisticated to appreciate the nature and quality of the act of sexual intercourse, and who can therefore give meaningful consent.

There are also MANY women more than 2.5 times that old, that are yet incompetent to marry. Of those, a significant fraction are yet unable for lack of sophistication to appreciate the nature and quality of the act of sexual intercourse.

The latter, despite having bodies physically mature, are unable to give meaningful consent to sexual relations.

Therefore, the sickness is not in a guy marrying or having consensual sex with a 12 year old; rather, it is in the society that distinguishes arbitrarily on the basis of age-based prejudices whether he and she may.

None of this is to suggest that any 12 year old should have sex with or marry anyone else;

rather, it is to indicate that parents of persons that old and yet unable to independent and competently manage their own personal sexuality, are derelicts guilty of parental misfeasance, abuse and neglect.

Guys have in the past married 12-year-olds, and they weren't regarded as sick for having so done.

Because of moral caprice, such marriages (civil unions) are in the USA no longer possible: the marital union of such bodies is (to any conservative, wrongly) regarded by the State as rape.

Doubtless, there are such marriages taking place in some foreign country. Although I don't have a specific example to cite, it seems fair to assume that in any State allowing such a marriage, the guy would not be regarded as sick for having so done.

That leaves clandestine marriages (actual marriage, as distinguished from both civil union and wedding).

It is at least conceivable that some guy, somewhere at some time, married a 12-year-old without the approval of society, in which case (arguably) he would have been "sick."

Whereupon such premises, the answer to your question is "probably."

You must learn to control your thought process which is reflected in your question.
That is to say, you think sickness of the mind must accompany the marriage of an adolescent female.

FYI: Marriage to Six-Year Old

In 624 Abu Bakr (Muhammad’s daily companion and one of his first believers and successor of Muhammad) gave Muhammad his daughter Aisha when she was six years old, although the actual marriage was not consummated until she was nine. (This fact is uncontested by all Muslim scholars and chroniclers without exception.) At the time of their marriage Muhammad was 54 years old (the age of her grandfather) – a difference of 45 years in their ages.

Aisha herself testified to these facts:

“The messenger of God betrothed me when I was six years old and then married me when I was nine years old.”

Advice: The world is not according to how you perceive it. This world and it's varied complexion can only be understood through Knowledge...not prejudice.
