This is a very interesting question. People love the dark side of life because it's beautiful. Yes and no. Maybe, people love black because it symbolizes something mysterious, unknown, and a kind of adventure of the soul, spirit. It can be something that is hidden, repressed in our unconscious. We want to learn, know, discover this blackness in ourselves and in others - maybe it's a trip, an exciting journey, a challenge.

It signifies the dark side because it is a dark color! Just joking. I'm sure there are some good historical reasons why "black" signifies the "dark side" -- just as "white" signifies positivity or goodness.
I *can* answer your question about why everyone loves it, though! The reasons are varied, but simple:
1. Black is a slimming color in clothing. It does not reveal bumps (cellulite), rolls, and other imperfections as much as lighter colors.
2. Black is easy to coordinate with other colors.
3. Black is simple. If someone wants to blend in, black allows him or her to do so.
4. Black doesn't go out of style. Nobody says you can't wear BLACK shoes after Labor Day! haha :)
5. Black is easy to find. If you are decorating your home and want black accessories, you won't have to look far. But if you are looking for a color like "fuschia", you might have a harder time.
I'm sure there are more reasons out there...but this is my 2 cents!

In the vedic scriptures it describes the colour of the Supreme Person as having the blackish blue hue . Our black like a thunder cloud .This meaning that the Supreme Person is GOD and i must say that black is BEAUTIFUL.

If you were an artist you would know that in order to make black you must mix all colors. Black is a presence of all things.
