(Feel like I say this everyday!)
Don't use Kazaa, too many viruses and rubbish is installed. Use Limewire from Limewire.com, but downloading music on it (as well as any other program) for free is illegal!

I've found that http://www.mp3000.net is the best. You can find several links by searching for a song, and while some may be dead, most are good, active links.
Your other options is using P2P software such as Kazaa and BearShare if you want to deal with the threat of lawsuits, as the RIAA and MPAA have their people constantly combing these.
There is some security in obscurity, as so many people use these that they simply can't prosecute EVERYONE, but who's to say that it wouldn't be your name that's called on a particular day?
In addition, I for one don't like deliberately installing spyware onto my computer, which is what you're doing when you install a P2P program. Use at your own risk if you feel it's worth it.

Many artists that are independant of a label will give their music away for free in hopes of gaining a listener base or simply because they believe in the free exchange of information.

What some people do is download a software (secure) called 360 share. It enables sharing of music without any payment.

jojo78 got it right saying limewire. limewire is totally free and easy to use no spyware and virus free so far, kazaa is now outdated, you could also try torrents and a good torrent download tool is azerous, and you can find torrents at torrentspy.com

you can use Limewire, iMesh, Ares, Kazaa, Bearshare and if u want to download full albums u can use Emule or Bitcomet
I suggest you use Limewire or Emule..u can find alot of rare stuff on Emule
