You are the only one that can answer that question, as you know what you are going to be using the computer for and know what features you will need. If you don't know what you want to do with it yet, that is where you should start first. Keep in mind that a laptop is more difficult to upgrade later. This means that you may not have a need now, but may later and have to at least consider that.

Keep in mind that pre-loaded software usually isn't specifically tailored to your needs and takes up space needlessly.

Go to dell.com. They have a really good buy around $600 and you can make small payments as low as $15 a month!

Or you can look in the Sunday Ads for cheap prices only they don't come with MS Word and it's components.

If you want loads of software already installed, your best bet is to go to a local used computer place-that's what I did! It was refurbished ($600) but I didn't have to go buy any extra hardware and I didn't have laptop envy any more!

laptop computers can be a rather tricky buy at times, I would suggest that you look out for the cheapest and yet latest desktop on the market,

the best way to do this is on what they call warehouse sale markets some of them are online.

these warehouse owners have a service where they sell laptop computers to normal customers like you and me, however with very reduced prices due to the fact that they do not have as much costs as normal shops do, such as rent and a employees etc. as you know most online shops have rather competitive prices sometimes cutting the laptop price to a half.

one such website for laptop computers is :

apple.

the price seems steep, but you get almost every program you could want, and you can read every file you need, or there is a free program online that will help you open every file.

they now run windows, so who cares after all.

if you buy the cheapest laptop at dell or hp or whatever, you will still have to add lots of programs to do what you want.

apple really does do it all right out of the box.

depends on what you need from it. are you a gamer go to alien ware, just school/work little Sims then any dell, hp, gateway, emachine etc.. will do. key is get the most you can for the money faster pref. duel core but hyper threading is fine, memory easier to get it now then add later for a laptop, recommend 1GB so it runs happily with multiple things going on. check newegg.com they have some good prices on close outs and refurbs. apple of course is my favorite and can do a lot more with music and graphics.

in case you'll college a computer is significant to do all of your college note on. until eventually you pick to stroll to the nearest computer lab anytime you pick to apply one, you pick a computer. you'd be shocked what percentage cases you crack it open. as far as your dad is going you need to continuously appreciate what they say. i do not comprehend what his causes were yet truly see you later as you purchased it including your money or somebody else gifted it to you he truly cant say a lot. if it truly is the case i'd in simple terms tell him i elect this for school. actually ninety 5 % of scholars carry a computer on them for the time of faculty in recent times. in the journey that your no longer comfortable with that per chance in simple terms carry off on telling him for awhile. the in undemanding words different clarification for why he suggested it truly is he's already planning on or has offered one for you. that would properly be my guess.
