I guess you have to know the context in which it was said. i.e. insultingly? as a compliment?
Is the glass of water half empty or half full? Well, I'll answer the question positively. I'd say that when you fall in love at the age of ten, we are still quite innocent and that whole experience is new and enjoyable. It's like discovering something new that nobody else knows about - like a secret garden. So hopefully that's how this person views turning to you.
If it was a negative statement, it must've meant that they feel they turned to you naively and feel that it was inevitable that you would hurt the person concerned.
I guess you'll have to draw your own conclusions from these answers.
I like to think the person was speaking positively - it does sound like a line though...probably from a person that has a preconceived view of you similar to your imprint about guitar players. Does that add up?

Yeah, as Ned Flanders would say, that's a noodle scratcher. By itself, it sounds like a positive message of sorts, I think, I guess, maybe. I believe the speaker means that every time he looks at "you," it brings feelings of pure, innocent, untainted love. Something beautiful.
However, putting that sentence in a different context could change the meaning to, "Looking at you turns people into blathering immature idiots." But the phrasing of the quote makes me think it's more likely the former.

means that the person would not follow through, most 10 year olds have a low attention span, and want many different things all at once, or can't decide, and think things through.
so, turning to you....at that time....would not help the person, because they couldn't depend on the decisions.
