when i was in kindergarden one day my older sister came up to me, gave me a straigt look and said, 'enjoy all the time you spend here right now, because in the future things will get more difficult'. i remember clearly i thought, 'what is she talking about? this boring already' yes, as a kid actually did think kindergarden was boring. i grew up elementary, junior high, high school, and i thoght back thinking, now i know what she meant back then, i wish i had appreciated it more than i would today.
so i never thought life was going to be better or worse, i thought it was all the same, nothign big nothing bad.
however....
it only happened to me once in my lifetime that i actually woke up one day and thought, wow, life is going to be better!!....3 weeks later i realized it was all the same, nothing big, no surprise. i was only 11, had woken up from a coma.

I had a very good upbringing, i am one of 6 children and my parents worked 24/7 so that we could at least have the basics. We didn't have lots of things but to be honest i had more love than anything else. I did think that pehaps when i got older things would be better but my mum had an incurable illness needless to say it killed her 6 yrs ago and my dad isn't around anymore.
From what i learned growing up i will teach my children the same- i never got into trouble and always said please and thankyou- learnt the value of money and taught how to respect others.

Well I grew up in Britain in the 70`s ,strikes, terrorism and the cold war were all very real threats so in some ways I hoped they would, but I never really thought about it at that point, I was probably more interested in what gun my Action Man was going to have.
As a kid my only ambition was to join the British Army and I did that !

To busy enjoying my self to think of
the future,
I suppose that was good in a way,
because once that passed away,
It' all hard work and no play specially
with the family and the cost of living,
never mind it has it's twists and turners
may be one day it'll get better, God knows.

Oh god yes. So far, it has just been a string of disappointment and let down.
No prince charming, no white wedding, no 2.4 children, no house and garden, no dog...
BUT I have a flat and a cat .. so some things are good, just not what I expected as a little girl.

Of course, but then again when I was a little kid, I thought a lot of
strange things, such as...
Santa Claus was always watching me.
Dead people could come back from the grave.
True Love conquers all.

Sure, didn't everyone have higher hopes than how life turns out. It also makes us have a strong will to keep trying. Never give up.

I so did. It was so much simpler then - I was just going to get married and have four children. I didnt think it would be this hard to get a flat let alone pay for the mortgage....!!
