Ive noticed it on here a lot. You ask a relatively benign question, and get shot down by some very angry, defensive people!
Surely the idea of a forum like this is to facilitate the exchange of ideas. If some people cant handle other people views, they why do you think they come on here in the first place?

Possibly due to poor communication skills, some of the younger generation spend more time on forums like this than talking to family and friends.
Religion,nationality and sport are possibly the most touchy subjects with genuine questions or personal opinions (no matter how right or wrong they are) being treated with abuse and ridicule, some are too quick to force their view across without thinking first, and others just seem to get off on it, they come here because they know people like us use it for a sensible reason.The average flamer IQ is lower than a snakes` t*t and their schoolkid anarchy is about as high as they can manage.

Some people are ignorant and believe they know everything. They feel that anything that challenges their views is a threat and will reveal their ignorance. Since they are know-it-alls, they can't accept that they are often wrong!
I think that you should always listen or in this case read with an open mind, none of us knows it all! If we are open-minded we can learn many new things each day. A wide range of opinions can help us to become knowledgeable and will allow us to make wise decisions in every day situations. This is just my opinion, based on people I know that are like that.

I agree with you. Some times what you want is more than straight up and down answers. I think the best is to get a debate with several opinions that you can weigh and discuss. Not a correction on what is right or wrong.

In the case of relgion they see through the eyes of those the religion abuse.
Much like looking at nazis from the POV of a jew in a gas chamber or experiement...
Only swap say jew for gay or sexaully active female etc.

because they have big mouths and like to be heard ...and are so up their .. sorry ... love this site but it can be ... you know never shot anyone down yet, like many here. sad if you have had bad experience.... me value other peoples opinions might not always agree with them but I'm listening ...

Maybe they no its the truth and it hurts, for some it can be easier to live a lie rather than face hurtful truth.
