I dont think you can, but there is possibility. Normally desktops are compatible with TV Cards where you have to configure the TV Card or Tuner in to the CPU. Since yours is Laptop you may need to configure an external TV Card device.
Now a days you will find all kinds of external devices for Laptops and Desktops. Like DVD readers, floppy drives, ZIpd drives etc. So, definitely there will be an external device for your laptop.

You need to have a TV tuner in order to watch TV from the cable and the software that comes with it will allow you to ue your laptop just like a TV or/and VCR. Because it is a laptop you can get eather a PCMCIA tuner or a USB one. USB will be external so more space will be ocupied but also cheaper so you have to decide. yes,you can. the only thing you have to do is to buy a pcmcia tv card. I bought one few weeks ago, not expensive at all and all is working fine. (Pixelview PlayTv Mobile). Of course there are many other companies that provides this kind of hardware - you must choose what is best for you.
Another option for you is to buy an external TV adapter (USB). It will work on almost any kind of computer.
