Well all the stuff that the sky is made of is lighter than air. Gravity pulls things towards the centre of the Earth but pulls heaviest things first. Then you get all the large masses staying stucj to the ground while the lighter things carry on floating above. It's a bit like the oil on water.

the sky is the air all around you but at a higher altitude
it appears blue or reflects colors from sun rays as the earth rotates....but it may seem like the sky is a different
realm,it is a little in that if you were to go up in a plane the sky wouldn't BE BLUE except high above you as on earth
but flying through clouds is surreal, compared to fog on the surfaces of Earth and then you're in the same realm again
keep looking up...

The sky is held to the Earth by gravity.
"First, because the atmosphere is a gas and because gases can be compressed, the atmosphere is denser at lower altitudes In a way the atmosphere is collapsed by gravity.
But more then that, because of the kinetic energy of the molecules of the atmosphere and because of their random notion, air molecules move in all directions including in opposition to gravity. When we observe this - and we can by watching larger particles in suspended in the air - we see what is called Brownian motion."

There really is no sky. It's an illusion. It's a reflection against the atmosphere from the ocean which creates the blue color.

the sky is just air, it gets its colour from the reflection of light generated by the sun, so nothing holds it up as the sky is nothing, but no doubt someone on here will tell you its god

The sky (the thin layer of atmosphere) that surrounds the earth is held there by gravity.

the clouds which you can see are up there because they are lighter than air. It is watervapour that has been heated by the sun, has evaporated and formed clouds. The rest of the air up there is only there because there is air beneath it, gravity is trying to pull it down towards earth, but there is already air below it.

You are thinking backwards... its not held up its held down by gravity, if not it would blow out to space like a place decompressing, Earth would be an airless vacume and you would die in agony as you explode or the aire is sucked from your lungs and you freeze.
