It is very important. It creates a stronger bond between husband and wife. The kind of bond that only those intimate feelings can bring out in your relationship.

It's not the most important thing. If that's all you have in your relationship, it's not a good sign. It's best to have balance - have a little bit of everything in your marriage - loving the other person and being there for them weighs more then lovemaking.

It's mandatory. If it wasn't for lovemaking, why on earth would a man and a woman ever want to live under the same roof?

Speaking from experience it's not as important as some would have you believe.I was married to my ex wife for (now don't laugh) 3 1/2 yrs.Prior to the marriage we made love daily.(I dated her for 3 yrs).Once we got married the frequency dropped to twice a yr.I was stubborn and didn't believe in divorce so I put up with it.I would still be married today, sexually unsatisfied and verbally abused if she hadn't told me she was cheating on me for my birthday present. What am I trying to say???That lovemaking is important, but as long as there is trust and fidelity it can be overlooked.

Honestly, it does depend on the couple. Some couples - it's the whole marriage, for others it's just something they do from time to time. Your sex drive and his, if they match like that, it's all that matters. There really isnt a "normal amount" of sex that you are "supposed" to have during your marriage. Sexuality is overrated.

As long as you both are happy, there is no reason to try to keep up with the "Jonese's".
