10 things I would change if i was prime minister:
1) Pensions - You get out what you pay in. Basically if you have been working and paying taxes all your life you would be entitled to a much higher state pension that those who have been claiming benefits all their life.
2) Immigration - If immigrants want to work they are welcome. If they just want to sit on their fat arses and sponge then they can go back to where they came from and them claiming that they are in danger of being killed will not be accepted as an excuse to stay in the country. It is totally their choice which one they want.
3) Benefits - All benefit rates are to be lowered with the exception of jobseekers allowance which will encourage more people to work.
4) Benefit Cheats - All people found to be commiting benefit fraud of any kind will have to pay all the money back plus interest from when they started getting them. Anybody providing information leading to someone being caught will be awarded a cash reward equivilent to what the person would have got in a year.
5) Council Tax - Council tax will be replaced by income tax to make the system much fairer.
6) Students - Families on a lower income should not have to pay tution fees. Only students with a net family income of over £50,000 a year have to pay tution fees. Also write off all current student debts.
7) Smoking Ban - Bring forward the smoking ban as it will save the most lives since the introduction of seat belts in cars.
8) Burgalars - Burgalars lose all their human rights protection the second they break into someones home and residents may use any means necessary to protect their homes.
9) Criminals - A lot more jails to be built and all convicted criminals must serve their full sentance in jail with no exceptions basically life means life.
10) NHS - More hospitals built and a large increase in taxpayers money going to the NHS to shorten waiting lists.

Assuming I was elected PM of a western democracy I would pay my dues to the third world without strings. I would fully support the millennium goals set by the UN to eradicate poor health, bad education and hunger.
We cannot afford not to do this and in the end it would be the best investment a country could make. The payback would be fantastic for everybody.

change anything?!! ho ho ho! first thing, close all doors to immigrants. Might sound harsh, but christ, we need to sort out our own homeless with jobs first before sorting out immigrants with jobs. Plus it makes sense, what do you do in a country that is already over populated and competition for homes and jobs is high? well i can tell you one thing, the answer isnt to let more people in!! 2. Crack down on crime. The money saved from funding immigrants (ie paying for their housing food etc) can be used to better fund the police and NHS (again, letting more unskilled foreigners in isnt helping the NHS situation!) Crack down will include harsher sentences for ALL criminals, whether he stole a mars bar or a porsche. 3. Reform this compensation culture. Its ridiculous. 4. Move the country away from this state of ultra political correctness. I dont like how black people or asian people or any people can infer racism on you. Its ridiculous how we are positively discriminating now.

Abolish council tax.
Make all dentists practices 50% National Health patients.
Reduce Income tax for people earning £50,000 per year or less to 10% & increase it for earnings between £50,001 to £100,000 to 25%. All people earning more than £100,001 per year should be taxed 40%.
National Insurance upper limits to be abolished & NI paid on all earnings at 5% regardless of how much you earn.
This way the "haves" will have to subsidise the "have nots" for a change instead of the usual of the rich getting richer & the poor getting poorer..

Make ALL politicians undergo lie detector tests:
1/ Before they stand to become MPs
2/ When they present their manifestos
3/ When they speak on any topic in the House of Commons
4/ When they vote on any issue
5/ When they give answers to Political interviewers
In general simplify the tax system by abolishing all taxes with the exception of Income Tax.
A poor person is currently paying the same tax on fuel as a millionaire will be paying. As a consequence he/she is paying a larger percentage of his/her disposable income.
Reward those who save and penalise those who could save but don't.

you have to change the people. There are social issues that may need to be changed -- such as spitting. Or, you may have to change the professions that the people take to make a living.
Singapore is going through a transition to a knowledge-based economy. It takes time, but PM Lee is doing a good job in preparing his people for change.

I would make it a world rule that, after retirement, all ex PM & President are to live in the country that they have had bad relations with while in office. See how quick world leaders learn the art of diplomacy.

i would have paid maternity leave of 1 year and paid paternity leave too. I would change council tax to local income tax. And I would encourage my population to stop worship consumerism and look at self improvement and the spiritual side of their selves.
Instead of measuring GDP I would measure the countries prosperity by how happy and content my people are.
