Your eyes have been covered all night under your eyelids while asleep or you stayed up all night partying and studying. If you are sleeping, then your eyes maybe allergic to something like pollen or pollution. If you are staying up, your tear ducts are stopping and the eyes are not getting cleaned because of interruptions of your sleep patterns. There are eye drops for dealing with allergies or dry eyes. To be safe, consult a doctor.

i am going to take a shot the following and say you're comfortable to the soloution. i have worn contact lenses for sometime and did not get any of the impacts you defined. there became some burning in my eyes after wearing the lenses even if it decreased interior of a jiffy. 4 days of waring them and that i have been given used to it. try it some cases and in case you get an same effect i'd propose seeing your physician. well i know swelling is caused by numerous factors, that being water retention and lymphatics.If your eyes arent injured or infected then water retention is the answer. this can be caused by high sodium intake (salty foods). so easy on the pretzels!!

Have you been rubbing your eyes? You may have scratched your cornea or given yourself an infection. See an eye doctor.

Or you may have an allergy.

I think this happens because you aren't used to the light. Besides, after they've been closed all night it's no wonder they're swollen.

fluid retention from laying down all night and allergies.
help hint: elevate head/shoulders for better blood and fluid flow.

this is due to water retention.....probably u had a late dinner the previous night.
