Dont worry there's lots of reasons why squatting isn't scrounging at all - in fact its a very good way to help yourself and make the most of otherwise unused resources - everyone's a winner!
The legal situation depends upon what country you are in - if you are in england the following website may be useful:

if you are somewhere else try looking on http://squat.net/
for advice on the country you are in
good luck and remember:
don't let houses rot, squat!
and by the way dont sell your computer either - you may have a good and legitimate chance of getting the electricity on in your lovely new squat - and you can make it nice and secure too - it might not be too difficult to get the internet on either

I'm sorry to hear of your circumstances but unfortunately life is hard and I'm sure it's not easy if you're looking after your disabled daughter on your own. The trouble is life is tough and I work full time as well as my husband, have two kids etc but we struggle to pay the mortgage, council tax etc and rarely have money to treat ourselves. I'm presuming if you're caring for your daughter you will get lots of help financially so count your blessings we live in a "nanny state" and take up what they offer. If the places they do offer are that bad surely a lick of paint would help to make it look presentable?

My sister is a single mother of 3. Her oldest is an 11 year old boy with severe autism. She works full time and also is going to college. She is also a damn good mother. Therefor i feel like u have no right to sit and wait on free living quarters and contemplate squatting! There are many organizations that offer single parents help with caring for special needs children while they work!

communicate with the economic corporation instantly. deliver images or video pictures. If there continues to be no action taken by ability of the economic corporation, and the squatters are too loud or behaving in the form of way which will be interpreted as risky to the community (in case you believe drug bargains, gang interest, or prostitution happening), you may call the police (no longer 911 although). in the adventure that they are turning the lot into any eyesore, you may communicate with city corridor who can deliver out a by ability of-regulation officer to check out. previous that, i don't understand.

sqatters rights went out years and years ago, if you move into an empty house with out the permission of the landowner, rest assured the cops will come. better to hang in there for low income housing, good luck
