Because I like to help people, usually. Now it's because I got a top answer and came to the site and thought I'll answer a few before lunch. I feel crap, maybe it'll take my mind off it. This is the last one. I'm having lunch because my answers are getting more sarcastic with every question I read. I'm on about 3,000 and some people are on 30,000 points. I spent hours helping someone with problems because I answered a question on mental health a few days ago. I suppose that is rewarding, to know some one in this world is suffering less and feels someone cares. We live in a world full of greed, violence, evil and perversion. Maybe, helping each other through this medium gives people some hope, some faith and it seems a good idea.

I like people, and I like to help them as much as I can. Being a consultant, I answer questions and solve problems all the time. When I discovered this, I felt that I can do some good here. So I visit every day for a few minutes and answer a few questions for which I am qualified.

I think it is a bit of both but if someone finds the information you gave them to be useful and give you the best answer, it feels good to know youve helped someone
