Asking because I've recently spoken to people who take the country seriously, which coming from it, I just can't. So what do you think of if and when you think of Wales?

Nice country, friendly people........and YES you should take this country seriously.......Have welsh roots myself. But I am English. Bit of a dumb question you asked.........ranks about the same as is the current US leader inventing a new language?
