Take a nice, soothing hot bath with some bubbles and/or calming essential oils such as lavender. Light a few candles and play some relaxing music. Turn off the electric lights and bathe by only candle light. Just relax like this until you feel calm.

Before the operation, say an affirmation such as, "I will get through my surgery without complications. The surgeon's hands will be skilled and he is a master at his work. I will heal completely and quickly." If you say positive affirmations before your operation, your nerves will be calm and your operation WILL go smoothly.

Good luck hun!

The best way to calm your nerves is prep talk. When you keep repeating a positive mantra over and over again until you can feel your whole body start to relax and the nerves slowly dissipate. And breathing deeply in and out really helps too. And try giving your legs and hands a good shake-off as well. And when you think you are ok, go "i'm ready, now i'm ready for anything". Prep talk really helps most people. Hopefully you don't reach out for the tablets *slaps hand

I have found the best way to calm the nerves is breathing. Yeah, sounds like a nobrainer, but think about it as you inhale through your nose as deep as you can, then slowly exhale through your mouth. Good luck, everything will be fine!

Surgry is scary, but its normal to be quite nerves for the surgry, just pray to god to help you, and then just let them do what they gotta do... You'll be Plety relaxed when they start the I.V. trust me!!! And surgry seems to go by so fast, while your asleep... and the pain after will suck! but it will go away...

Don't drink or eat anything, if your going in for surgry, unless the surgent said it was ok... You don't wanna haveta wait even longer for the surgry, due to they might not be able to do it, as your stomach isn't empty... They want it that way to help keep you from having acid reflux when your on relaxent while in surgry... But they will give you this drink (anti-acid) before surgry that'll help with that!!!

Try meditation and drink some strong tea. But you should also talk to your doctors about it.
