I would say it created more disdain for unqualified black workers.
When it certainly didn't create racism, it may have planted a seed of racism in a person who once believed 'all men are created equal'.
Affirmative action assures us, minorities are not as smart as whites. (not a personal belief)

AA has not prevented nor created racism!..it was an ill advised response to racism!

Racism predates Affirmitive Action by about 300+ years. Racism was created as the means by which the slave state was maintained. As long as people believed that blacks deserved to be slaves because by dint of being black, they were inherently inferior to their white masters, the system could be easily mantained. It was in the early 1800s that people began to challenge this assumption.
Slavery may have ended, but the infrastructure of racism has taken on a life of its own.
