hey
you could ask them s'thing from this list:
1) is the authority of raising vegetable prices in your hands or is it decided by someone else?
2) how frequently is the price of vegetables raised?
3) are there any alternative choices of vegetables to buy, or is it just of one type or from one single country?
4) are most of your stock cheap, or quite all right to buy from companies?
5) how frequently are the shops selling vegetables opened?
6) do you have certain rules as to how and why the prices have to be raised?
7) if i buy a kilo of tomatoes today and compare it with the price of tomatoes a week from now, by how much would the price have increased?
8) how much do the prices increase by? is there a drastic variation?
9) are you licensed to sell these vegetables?
10) if vendor is in a wet market you can ask him this: how are the raised prices of vegetables helping your daily income? they must be going on the positive side as they are worth the increase. are they really worth it?

What are the prices now?
What were the prices last year?
Are there any seasonal price patterns?
What forces you to raise prices?
What would allow you to keep the same price or lower it?
Have prices ever gone down?

in my area, we had floods and large amounts of rain. so I would ask "how last years weather can affect crops the next year?" ie: soil erosion, seeding plants washed away...

and "did your community get aid from the government to build the dykes, or did the costs come out of your own pockets?"
