Yeah. I'm Canadian, and while I would have liked to see the cup back in Canada - I remember visiting some friends in North Carolina and looking at the stats last November and the Hurricanes were at the top of the conference. I kept an eye on them all year - and you know what - as cool as it would have been to see eighth place (in the west) Edmonton come and win it - The Hurricanes totally DESERVED to win - they worked their butts off all year and game 7 - they were relentless and outplayed the Oilers hands down. I'm happy for them. I feel bad for the Oilers, but they've won the cup more than a few times - and The Hurricanes haven't. Given they are an expansion team I think it's good for the south to have a Stanley Cup winner and spread the thrill of hockey to a region that is learning the joy of the game!

@Calebs mom.
You do realize that most of your team is Canadian dont u, along side with most American hockey teams (usually nothing less than 50% Canadian roster)??? The best players on your team are all Canadian. So as for hockey winning in the south, its hardly due to American players, but more due to Canadian players. Just thought you should know that before you start comparing Usa to the Canada in terms of hockey becuase that would be a joke...Seriously. So really what did you prove to us again?? oh thats right that Canada always has and always will pump out the greatest hockey players in the world. Also *Cough* Cam Ward winning the Conn Smythe Trophy... that guy along with 3 other players from the hurricanes team alone, come from the Edmonton and surrounding area... I hope this blow didnt hurt you too bad.

Yes, I am very happy!! They deserved to win the Stanley Cup. All this talk about a southern hockey team didn't deserve the Cup because hockey is a Canadian sport, well, I think we proved that partly wrong. Hockey may be a Canadian sport, but this southern team showed hockey is alive and winning in the South.

I am not happy they won but they obviously deserved it.
And I have to agree with N'Sane, there really isn't a "Canadian" team or an "American" team in the NHL anymore. The teams consist of players from all over the world. Canada INVENTED hockey, that is why it is called Canada's sport, but there are players from many countries who play it exceptionally well.

How great was it to see Erik Cole on the ice? I'm a Wings fan and really was impressed with him when we played against the Canes in the finals and he was the only player on the US team with any heart. Cole playing in game 7 after breaking his neck is one of the greatest sports stories I've ever heard

I am exteremely happy... We came together when it counted. I think it's pretty funny that everybody was like they won't win, their "Redneck Hockey" well you know what I have to say now... SCORE ONE FOR REDNECK HOCKEY!!!! Yeah!! It was awesome to see Erik Cole back on the ice, and to see Cam Ward get the MVP and to see Rod Brind'Amour finally get to hold the Stanely Cup... All I can say is watch out for the Canes... Hopefully you'll be seeing a lot more of us in NHL news.

I am so happy.
This is something I have been waiting for since I was in the third grade. It finally has happened. It was so good to see that cup in the rbc center. This is the highlight of my summer.
