Freetown is almost surrounded by water (Sea). There is no one in Freetown that hasn't been to the beach. It is quite safe because of the salt. You will never get gonorreah or any STDs. It is even healthy.

Bathing in sea (salt) water is in fact a lot more healthy than just having a bath in fresh water, although any clean water has a lot of positive and healing power. And doing it naked is the best way of all, since the water can reach all parts of the body.
If you have the chance to get sea water & sea weed baths in the months when the sea would be too cold for bathing, it will also be beneficial for you and your health.
However, before you bathe in the sea, make sure that the water is safe, unpoluted and free of sharks.
