It is better to love. Even in the depths of suffering and alone-ness as long as you shine out love as naturally as a flower gives its scent you will not forget yourself or the beauty of the world. We need no one but ourselves to be happy.

I believe God is the author of love. First you must be loved by God's perfect unconditional love. Then you begin to love Him with that love. Pretty soon you naturally love others with that love.
The greatest thing is this love is not based on the object of the love, but on the giver; first God loves because He is love. Then as you experience His love, it produces His love in you. Then you love others the same way. Not because they are earning your love but because you are being filled with God's love and life.
The only requirement to attain this love is to receive the free gift to you, paid for by the sacrifice of Jesus Christ, the Son of God. That is how we can be loved unconditionally. God's standard is perfection.God's righteousness cannot been compromised by being in a relationship with beings who fall short of His perfect standard of righteousness. But His love is so great that He paid for all sin and is now able to call us sons and daughters of God. But you must receive the free gift by taking the step of faith and believe that Jesus, the Son of God came down from Heaven and lived a perfect life and then chose to be sacrificed on a cross and three days later was risen from the dead. All this because he loved you! So be loved by God, get it from its original source; accept no imitations!! =)
