That's a very good question.
My guess is that they play dirty and have all the big bucks either in their own pockets or they know who has the big bucks and has them in their pockets.
Now wait one minute, Carter is not nor was he ever weird, it's the rest of them that are the really weird ones that should have never been put in office for any reason at all. If someone didn't tell each of them what to say and do those idiots would still be standing and staring out their windows wondering what's going on and how should they comment on anything.
Just picture them with their thumbs up their you-know-where and with the other hand waving as the crowds go by.

Because during the campaigning process, they pretend to be the "average Joe" and a lot of people bit into that persona. Anyone that says to me "I hear you" or "I'm listening to your problems" is just really b.sing me. These people like to fire-up issues that seem important to their party and perhaps important enough to the other party to get the votes, but when it comes right down to it, they don't give a rats a$$ one way or the other, they just want to say "see me, I made president". One of their childhood dreams come true, not a job for them but an ego ride.

John Howard, i thought you should add. I think beacuse there are people out there stupid enough to vote for them! And aslo beacuse the smart people keep well out of politics, its an unforgiving job. The stupid people also seem to radiate a kind of ignorant self confidance and sure-ness that alot of dumbasses like in a country leader.

Why do weird people always criticize our leaders and do not have enough sense to do anything of meaning. What position do you hold ? Burger Flipper ? Porter ? Janitor ? Or are you so smart that you are unemployable ?

Because they have the money and or power to hire the people who can rally the stupid "followers" with non-issues to get into power and then claim a mandate to do whatever they want to with the real issues.

i wouldn't say any of those people you mentioned are weird, i believe they are great people who at time may do things that aren't popular with everyone in such a diverse world, i believe the "weird" people are eliminated by the majority of the population, john kerry/al gore/howard dean come to mind.
