Heya i 16 and for the past year or so i've been on and on and on at my parents to let me get more peircings. So far i have two in each ear but now i want a stud at the top of my ear and my lip. Both my parents are dead against it but the only reason they give me is "we disgaree and we brought you up to be proper"...
i wrote them a letter explainging all the 22 points i had come up with on why they should let me get it done but stil they just say "we disgaree so ..no"
They expect me to wait until i leave home b4 i get any more peircings done... to be honest i think its completely unfair b'coz i understand where they are coming from but i've wanted this for sooo long and they just don't understand. I cnt think of n e more things i can do to convince em... unless i just go behind their backs and do it...
I researched it completley i kno wot im doin.. its not illegal or unsafe so i dont get their problem..
i want this desperately..

any suggestions please?? HELP!!

Listen to your parents. You're still young and stupid. They know better.

Hello. When i was 14, i had the same as you, two pericing on each lobe. But still, i was aching for more peircings because i saw this korean girl having 3 piercings haha. It so happened that my mum had gone to singapore for a week and i had no parent supervision, so i took the chance and went out to a shop that didn't require you to tell your age and went for it! I didn't tell my mum-at all. I just waited til she noticed it. Strangely, it took her 2 weeks to notice i had a 3rd piercing after she came back home haha. But by then the damage is done and she wasn't too angry about it.
So if you are like me and gutsy enough, i say just go for it ay. Go to a shop that won't ask you for your age and don't tell your parents, just act as though you never did anything haha. Or if you are a real mama's boy, there's nothing you can do but just wait til your 18, then you can legally do it without parent supervision. -ahh but by then, you might already get over your urge because i also badly wanted a piercing at the top of my ears when i was 15. Now i'm 17, i'm totally over that idea haha. -ohyeah, and never pierce your ears by yourself with a needle. It's soooo bad man haha. Hurts like ****

Why do you want it so desperately???

What is the driving force to do this???
First of all it costs money...

Second it takes time to heal after it is done, so it could get infected or hurt you for a while during the healing process...

Thirdly, your body is still growing and a new piercing now may end up looking different in a few years time...

Fourth, why can't you wait till you can afford it instead of making your parents pay for it???

Fifth, why can't you wait and what's the hurry anyway???

well you could just do behind their backs and do it and they could just take away your car or make you take them out.
You could just do it and not take them out, what are they gonna do, kick you our of the house? No. Are they going to hold you down and take them out? Probably not. They'll just express severe disappointment in you and your choices and try to make your life inconvient until they get tired of doing so. Wait them out.
If you care what they think, don't do it. If you do but know that nothing about you will really change after doing so (meaning joining a gang, skipping school, having unprotected sex, etc) do it.
Once you live with something for so long, you get adapted to it. They will get used to your piercings.
Please don't go crazy with them, getting a labrea and nip piercings and gential piercings.
Too much is just too much and after a point you just look as if you want to impress others too much just for the shock value, which is childish.

You could try expaining to them that you have freedom of expression. Percings or no doesn't make you any less proper. I mean, if you had absolutly NO peircings, you could be a **** or a tramp, right? Body art has nothing to do with whats in your heart. I think they are more concerned with what society will think of THEM if they let you do it. in their heads they are hearing " What kind of parents would let their child get so many peircings??" they just need to rise above the society, and give their kid a chance!!

Why are you so set on piercings? Will you die if you don't do it? Use other ways of showing your individuality. Airbrush your fingernails or pierce them and wear nail jewelry! Your parents are looking out for your best interests and have to draw the line somewhere. You can wait till you're on your own...then, knock yourself out!

you don't really need it. your parents just don't want you to regret. you may think that you won't NOW but later you might.

i have 2 on each ear
i HAD cartilage piercing on both ears
i have a belly ring
i have a nose ring.

my ears i don't regret, my cartilage i regret cause it was annoying, my belly ring... well don't really give a crap about it, BUT MY NOSE RING, ahhhh i regret. i have a friggin hole in my nose. i tried to let it close but it's an ugly scar. so i have no choice but to have a nose pierce.

trust me. you should wait a while. i wish i listened to my mom.

That's messed up.. "proper"? Perhaps your parents should care more about your fredom to express yourself rather than being a faceless moron.
