I suspect that Chaetognathas, a type of worm, is the word you're looking for but perhaps a more general term for worm is the best answer to your riddle.
The worms that fishermen like are bait: the worms that the doctors hate are parasites, and the worms that kids want to eat (gummy worms) are candy.
