Question

what you or the person are like, are they moody, sensitive, have you been in a relationship with a cancer before? do you have a cancer friend, how is he/her in terms of personality?

My mother, brother-in-law and the husband of a close friend are all Cancerians (and textbook examples, at that). First and foremost, they are usually VERY DELICATE LITTLE BLOSSOMS and their feelings are usually pretty easily hurt. As a general rule, they will not be forthcoming about the fact that you upset them (nor about their feelings in general), but will wallow in their misery until you try to extract the information yourself. And they might not even tell you then, although as another poster suggested, you'll have far better luck when the moon is waxing (going from new to full) than when it is waning (full to new).

You can definitely forget about them doing unto others as they would have others do unto them - all three of these Cancers reserve the right to agitate the daylights out of others (including me!), but simply can't take what they dish out. (I can take a lot of teasing, but I expect to be allowed to give it back in my turn, so this system doesn't work for me.)

However, if you're unhappy, Cancers are among the best people to have around to try and cheer you up. They understand your hurt feelings because they're so often hurt themselves.

And everyone should be so lucky as to have a Cancer mom growing up - their babies always come first in their lives. They can get a bit smothering once you're ready to leave the nest (although my mom does a pretty good job of controlling it), but up until then, it's great.

Curiously, all three of these Cancerians married Leos (which means that my dad, my sister and one of my best friends are Leos, as well as a few other close friends), and the two Cancer males both decided quite firmly and early that their respective Leo females were THE ONES for them and just hung on until they got what they wanted. They can be quite focused and determined, if not entirely rational.

You'll notice I didn't say that I personally had any Cancerian friends. As a Libra, I'm generally not overly fond of them and can't stomach their illogical, unreasonable and delicate blossom ways. Rather, I'm absolutely a fire sign (Aries, Leo and Sagittarius) magnet.

My nine year old daughter is a Cancer. Obviously she has no experience on relationships but I can tell you a bit about her personality.

She really does think she knows it all (but then that's probably just kids in general) She constantly answers back and has to get the last word on everything.

She is extremely sensitive and is hurt by this silliest things that her brother says.

She is also very kind. She is constantly asking me if I need to borrow any of her pocket money. She is very honest. She found a gold chain in her school playground and immediately handed it in.

She is very caring especially to people she thinks are hurting. She will try her best to comfort a person rather than ignore their problem.

I like her as a person. I would not change her in any way and funnily enough, I look forward to the few arguments that we have (that she sometimes starts) because that is all part of who she is.

My father is a Cancer and one of my bestfriends is a Cancer. Cancer men are shy, nice when they're with the right people, extremely moody and unpredictable, one minute they're laughing with you the minute after they're shouting at you. They get angry for things of no importance and when they have a bad opinion of you they'll almost ever change it. If you treat them with sweetness and charm they'll love you, otherwise they'll withdraw into themselves.
Cancer women (my aunt is) are sweet, nice, more outgoing than Cancer men but a a little mistrusting with people they don't know well enough for their standards. They're wonderful with children, because they're loving and affectionate. You have to make them feel confortable with you and you'll get their best.

golden rule when dealing with a cancerian. Look at the moon first. If its in a waxing phase they ar ethe easiest people to deal with and if its waning you've had it. They are cranky and irritable and God help you then.

they are the most sensitive of the love signs and wouls not lime to see a snail crushed underfoot. In an argument they are pretty pacifists too.
