It shouldn't take 3 days to go from SFO to LV. It's appx 12 hrs to drive straight through..7.5 -8 hrs to hit Pasadena and 3.5-4 hrs from there to Vegas all depends on the traffic. Now if r planning to stop at popular spots in s. cali then yeah it would take 3 days to enjoy the sites..is it worth it..not really. And gas prices down here is about 3.30 a gallon....

I would definitely check out flights via Southwest Airlines. It's only an hour and half away that way. If you drive, by the time you get to Vegas, you might be too tired to enjoy it.

Depends.
With fuel at the current prices, I would check your gas expenses versus what a flight would cost, if that is what you're asking.
If you're asking "Should it take 3 days to make the drive?"...well, that depends on how fast you can go!

According to mapquest.com, it'll take you about 8 hours 53 minutes to drive there.
According to maps.google.com, it'll take you about 10 hours 15 minutes to drive there.
The distance is 570 miles. With fuel efficiency of 25 mpg and gas at $3.00, it'll cost you $68.40 in gas.
