NO! Emily Rose was NOT possessed! She was mentally ill just like all the other people who, (claim) they are possessed! There are no such things as demons, but religious people and those not quite right, or who are ignorant think so and nothing will convince them otherwise! A lot of this stuff was handed down from one generation to the next, and so on and so on and so on...............................

Yes, she probably was. Demons do exist too. Their influence on a person begins as obssesive thoughts that are always negative and/or destructive and are disturbing to the person. They do this to weaken a person's will-power so that they can attempt to possess that person. Ironically, demons can only harm you to the extent that you let them. If you defy them at every turn, they have no power over you. Out of all the various non-physical entities, demons are the purest Evil and are oddly mechanical in their ways. A spirit might give a person obsessive thoughts, but they wont be as destructive or disturbing as demonic obsession. The best way to avoid demonic influence is to build up your will-power.

The real Emily Rose is actually Annaliese Michele and she lived in France. She was 17 when she got possessed and 19 when she died. Being a very religious Catholic my faith tells me she was possessed. They tried 3 exorcisms on her and the Demons would not leave her. She told the priest that she didn't want any more exorcisms and she wanted die with her faith. Those of ¥øû who say Demons aren't real have your own demons to fight inside yourselves. Possession is very real. Even though it has never happened to ¥øû, or anyone ¥øû care about that does not mean it doesn't exist or isn't real. Think The Exorcist was made up?? Do research and ¥øû will see that story is very real. Thanks

Who could possibly know - there are many things in this world that none of us really understand. However, look at things rationally. Take this as an example. A friend of mine told me recently that she woke up to see a strange dark figure hovering over her, which then tickled her ear and vanished.

My response was, if it was a ghost, why on earth would it bother. I mean, what could it possibly get out of that? Tickling an ear? Not much fun in that!

Though a demon might well enjoy a good possession I suppose...

According to a movie review I read when it was released, it it is apparently loosely based on the only true exorcism performed by the Catholic Church in the 1960's during which the little girl actually died. So yes I would say she was really possessed.

If you believe in God and Satan.. why not in possessions by demons, or the existence of poltergeists, ghosts, vampires, Harry Potter..

The truth is, there is no evidence whatsoever for the idea of demonic possession.

Here is the real story of Emily Rose. It was based on the story of Annelise Michel.

Look up the story of Annelise Michel.
It's scarier than the film, not just due to the fact it's a real account.
Google it too, as there's more info around than just on Wikipedia.

that's hollywood for ya!
Nowadays the only way they can make people come to the theaters is to take a fictional story or an urban legend at best, make an amazing trailer, and then at the end swear that it is based on an actual account.
this girl, whose story they exploited, was mentally ill, not possesed.
