before all of you call me a racist or say I am stereotyping people. I live with five pinoy roommates and I have many friends from Thailand, Lao, and Cambodia along with few from other asia part. I also can spot a Japanese even in Chinese town! So I am not mistaking them for other asia ethic! live in city where majority of tourist are Japanese so I have see it in person. I am just wondering about something.
I notice that they often hang out in huge group, what is up with that? I hardly notice a couple or Japanese of less than 5 around. What is up with that? How do they manage to convince so many friends and family to come visit USA?
I also notice they have weirdest sense of humor, even my asian buddies doesn't even understand it at all. For example one time I was in a store, they found a small picture of mm candy guy, they all break out into a long hard laugh that leave their eyes all watery. Other time I saw a Japanese guy cook waffle at a buffet, few of his female buddies end up

laugh for five min. They also seems to laugh about some of the oddest everyday thing. What could be so damn funny? Also whenever I or anyone laugh about something that is literally funny the Japanese usually doesn't even seem to find it amusing at all. This make me feel very uneasy around them because I could never tell if they're laugh and mocking me or my culture or if I offend them in any way.
They also have tend to take pictures of weirdest things. I've seen them take pictures of trash can, lamp pole, their hotel door, and other similar thing that doesn't really make any sense.
Hopefully someone can explain all of those stuff so I don't feel so uncomfort around them anymore.

I've been in few different countries in Europe. I blend in so well that many people mistake me for their own at first. I've been around many foreign peolpe and usually we find eachotehr somewhat different, however Japanese are just beyond everybody else. Yes they're very friendly and nice but they still make me nervous.
