East African Side-neck Turtle?
Now are these turtles only found in east africa???? because i am pretty sure my cletis is a african side neck turtle. i downloaded pictures and it is like a twin to him same color same shell same everything.




i got pictures i know it is what i think he is because if i did not know any better i would of thought that was my turtle! anyway if u know anything about turtles i have pictures just e mail me and i will send them cassie_frank03@yahoo.com

I am in Pennsylvania and i did not get him from a pet store. i got him from a lady a couple towns away she told me that he was born with her from his mom and he has always been a house pet.

My large hindged back tortoise is missing for about 3 yrs now but is 10 yrs of age...

she has skinny legs and is light colored she was stolen[PA] 3 yrs ago]

There are many species and subspecies of sidenecke turtles in Africa, most of which is in western Africa though. I sent you an email, and if I look at the pics, I can positicely ID it for you and give you better advice about care.

If you bought the turtle, please understand that pet shops OFTEN mis-label animals for one reason or another.

If you found it and you live somewhere like Florida, it could have been someone else's released turtle. Florida has a LOT of weird alien released species running around.

Wu Gwei can ID it, I am sure!
