When I was younger I would have said myself. But in these pass few years I started really appreciating my family and to be honest I would give up my life for their well-being. I have a good family....it took me a long time to see that, and I haven't been the perfect daughter, sister, cousin, niece, or granddaughter...and Im still not but now I know how much they care for me and how much wrong I do....how much my decisions hurt them. So, yeah my family is more important then myself.
Although that dosen't mean that I'll do anything they ask...i.e. I won't break up with my boyfriend for them and I won't choose the career they want for me. But I would say.......spend an entire day doing lawn care for them w/o pay, or loan a sum of money w/o expecting re-payment.

Both are important... family took care of you while you were young that was their duty to and now since your old enough its your turn to return the favor.... For me, my family advice on decision making when i ask them for some input but the final words is mine. Family is suppose to be there for you supporting you in every way possible not telling you what to do... they are suppose to let you go and learn from your mistakes how to live your life. and once you have your own family than they come first and than comes your parents etc.

My family. When all is said and done, my family is the most important thing to me. If there was anything that I could do to save any of my family member's life, I would do it within a heartbeat. I would act first, think later.

Sometimes your love for your family holds you back from making your own decisions in life. I always wanted to travel and study abroad, but my family didn't agree, I regret it now. They disagreed on my husband when we were dating... and now we are the happiest couple.
They were right about many things in my life and took some right decisons about my education and future. I know they love me dearly and I love them as much, I listen to their advices and take my own decisions at the end.

in a certain point in time, family is the most important thing for us because our family takes care of us and gives us what we need. me? i put my family first because they gave me just about anything that i have asked for and i want to return the favor to them. everything i do now, is for them, and i guess they are proud of that.
