It seems to me, by emphasizing some things, and omiting others, they're pushing an agenda.

This is a difficult question.;

US is a capitalist democracy. with some companies controlling most of the media, there are few major issues that control the flow of information in the US.

First, it is the will of the co-operations management that decide what direction the company should go, and in some minor way it is the editors or program leaders who decide what is OK to broadcast or not.

Second, it is the companies that pay for the advertisements who can change the broadcasting of the news by forcing their views on the media by taking out their adds from companies who do not do as they wish (this is normally denied by the media, but it is a common practice that enfoce self-sensorhip among many US TV and news broadcasting services).

Third, it is the work of some loud lobby groups like conservative Christians, AIPAC (Israeli lobby), NRA (Gun lobby) and many other groups who spend millions of dollars and 100s of full time activists to enforce their view on the media and by doing so, change the way Americans receive their information.

Forth and the most important is the lack of real grass root organizations and lack of support from the vast majority of the people in the US to actively act toward a free flow of information.

Americans (like many people in Europe these days) are too busy living their lives and don't have time or the will to look for alternative sources. This does not mean that the information is not there for them to receive (like the case in many dictatorship societies), but they find it uncomfortable to read alternative press, or look for alternative news channels (like ITN or BBC world service), because they are used to have 3 second attention on each subject and can not have "boring" discussion about serious issues like the war in Iraq, the unconditional support of the state terrorism committed by Israel, the amazingly high US national debt, the destruction of their social welfare etc, just to give some examples.

Sadly, the case for single sided news broadcasting is spreading to the rest of the world as well, where view of a few strong companies controlls the flow of information and the mind of people in the rest of the world. But the main difference is, in many countries outside US, people think criticilly of the news they receive and do not believe in it blindly.

i presumed liberals managed the media? heavily even if, particularly now with the internet there are any such enormous quantity of autonomous information resources that in case you don't like the slant contained in the mainstream media in simple terms bypass elsewhere. i imagine the mainstream media is too censored through the authorities besides yet because the Christan coalition seems to administration each thing else in this usa per chance that is more effective positive to allow somebody else have a touch say...

Its the lizard people who live underneath the earth. They have been a guiding force in human civilization and culture ever since our earliest days. Some of their subterranean cities support this political view while other cities support other political views. They are in fact in conflict with each other and we are the pawn in their twisted games. One city has protected and promoted the Hebrew people since their days of wandering in the desert. That city made them their Chosen. Another city recently came into conflict with that city and backed Hitler and the Nazi regime and inspired them to attempt to genocide the Chosen people. The lizard people are descended from small, intelligent dinosaurs that became adapted to life under the surface. They have science and technology that is millions of years more advanced than ours. They build the flying saucers and used genetic manipulations to create the Grey 'aliens', the Bigfoot, and perhaps even us. They cannot leave the pressures of the Depths in comfort anymore so created the Grey's to be their minions.

The government and mega corporations. Yes, they ARE pushing many agendas. Ultimately, for all of us to be completely controlled and have no privacy. We are living in a police state.
