Im of the opinion that history is recorded by the winners. Meaning you usually stop hearing about something after its been "defeated" once the romans took over, greek history was gone, the romans kept what was ok to keep, and never recorded what they didnt like. some things in our country's (US) history are not very true either. Paul Reveres ride was only 2 miles, Isreal Bissel was the man who rode for four days and six hours covering the 345 miles from Watertown, Massachusetts to Philadelphia along the Old Post Road. yet we never hear about him, cause the man who wrote the story afterwards needed a better name to rhyme with other words "Listen my children and you shall hear of the midnight ride of paul revere." History is Literature, and Literature is history..........just a thought
