...uh, yes...the rest of Europe was coming out of the dark ages...and the preservers of information were the Moors...they ruled for 700 years in many parts of north Africa and South East Europe.

yep! The Muslim world back then was the leader in medicine, art techniques, meta lurgy, and so on. Europeans were still illiterate, filthy, believing that witches made them sick, and so on. Charlemagne King of the Franks and, later, Holy Roman Emperor, had the closest level of achievement in his realm. But, it was the Dark Ages in Europe and even the Moorish kingdoms fell, one by one, to the Spanish kingdoms. Roger King of the Two Sicily's also had a Muslim influence in his realm, thus the medical university in Sicily.

As far as i know, they were ahead also with alot of science and math, and they were described as "bringing light to the world" at the time, due to the vast knowledge departed, as well as their highly rated universities at the time. But unfortunately as we see now, it is no longer the case, and im not sure but i think the government was overthrown or something

architecture,math,sciences,not music or literature.if it wasn't for muslim architechture giving us the flying butress,there wouldn't be stained glass windows in cathedrals.the walls needed all the space for support.without arabic math we'd have no concept of zero.
