I think white girls try to be cool with there hands up in the air.Black girls just want to shake their butt for the men.

Who really knows. If you ask a person some say it just natural, other it's just how they dance. Personally I sometimes do dance with my hand near the butt. I just do it, other times to steady myself when I'm dancing with someone else ;-D.

Maybe hands on the butt keeps a**hole males from messing with it unless the girl wants him too, LOL...Honestly I haven't really noticed...but if everyone is having fun, that's all that should matter :)

Simple. Black women have "ghetto-booties" (giant butts), so they need to contain their butts so others don't get harmed when they dance - whereas white women can wave their hands in the air as they please and their body parts will not harm others in the room.

may be this will look odd, but big butts needs holding of fear of falling down, white girls does not have anything to hold to.
