First off, funny reading all those ignorant answers.
Saddam was installed to power by US and everything was fine until Saddam wanted independence from Washington and dissended with the oil cartel because we wanted to get paid for oil in euros rather than dollars.
For some reason a couple of decades AFTER the alleged crimes, Bush overthrows Saddam and gets him charged. Of course, whatever Saddam did was internal affairs, US had no right to intervene, no one asked them, Iraq never threatened US, just wanted to be left alone to handle its affairs.
Almost nobody in Iraq was actually against Saddam, under his dictatorship Iraq new such economic development that 1 liter of pump oil was less than a liter of Coke.
Another thing that most people forget to mention is that the -innocents- killed were suspects in a foiled attempt to overthrow Saddam. Seems that instead of raising against the decision of the dictator, the people of Iraq agreed with the reprimand and kep quiet.
During the history of mankind, each regime that became too opressive was overthrown from inside, when its people decided things went bad. If Saddam's call was bad, he should've been deposed by his own people and tried, not by foreign intervention.
Of course, everything becomes ok if some guy declares it's a war going on. Wait a minute, I'm sorry, but Bush declared a 'war on terrorism'. The sides in the war are the US and terrorists, whatever that means by Bush's standards. Iraqi civilians aren't civilians of the terrorists side, nor has US formally declared war on Iraq. In fact, they are the ones who are supposed to be 'eliberated'. I guess that being killed by depleted uranium bombs does count in a twisted way as 'liberation'.
Frankly I would expect from a force that claims enough moral superiority to decide who's bad and who's good and intervene to correct those wrongs to be able to procted the innocent.
Moreover, I double those expectations when the intervention comes from such a high-tech army like that of the US.
Where is that super-class intel that should ensure only terrorists are tageted? Where are those high-tech guided bombs that can hit within a meter of its intended target? Where are those super-precise guns that Discovery channle keeps praising?
There are way too many mistakes in the war, way too many intentional and unintentional attacks against civilians, way too many civilian targets bombed to believe that US isn't in fact terrorizing the people of Iraq.

Why do you pople that are so uninformed think that President Bush is waging this war against terrorism all by himself. Notice I said "war against terrorism". Sadam Hussien killed innocent peoples because they were different from himself. They were not trying to overthrow any duly elected officials of a constitutionally established government. Sadam Hussien is a mass murderer. George Bush is a duly elected leader of the greatest democracy the world has ever known. When we elected him it was with the burden that he would defend the constitution of the United States of America. Anything less would be malfeasance of office. That is what is happening in Afghanistan and Iraq, we are defending the constitution of the United States of American and these precious freedoms we enjoy. Are you so nieve to think that as a resident of North Korea you could make such a statement about Kim Jung IL? No, #1 one you would be shot for even being on the internet to ask such questions. #2 you would never have the money to own the computer you are using. Do you think that as a resident of China you could make such a statement. No. Don't you know that you can not surf the web and have access to internet sights that the communist government of China does not approve of. How many civilians have died at the hands of coalition troops in Iraq and compared to those who have died as a result of the Islamic insurgents? Do you know that in Saudi Arabia you can be jailed for being in a group of more than three people? These extreme rules and situations which exist throughout much of the Middle East, Africa, and lots of Asia is why we are in Afghanistan and Iraq. You probably feel that North Korea and Iran should not be confronted over their nucular program or North Korea for their "test" firing of intercontinental missles. Please analyze what I have told you and see if you can't understand why we must confront these Rogue countries on their turf rather than wait for them on our playing field.

watching most of the previous solutions jogs my memory that people who shout loudest have the least to assert and the main to cover. The Iraqis that Saddam killed have been often killed with the conivance and appoval of england and united states of america, no longer that Britain has had an self sufficient voice for years, and we killed many with the sanctions we imposed on Iraq, which the politicians knew and probable was hoping may be the case, so as that they could portray what have been their murderous tyrant as now an self sufficient murderous tyrant. attempt looking at the back of the headlines, a number of you.

You ******' idiot -- like all the other idiots who would find something wrong with it if America gave 10 pounds of gold to every man, woman and child on earth. You just don't know what you're ******' even talking about.
"America" is not "suing" Saddam Hussein. It is a ******* WORLD COURT, not even in the United States, with an ARAB JUDGE, that is "PROSECUTING" Saddam Hussein for crimes against his own people, among others.
The big difference between Bush and Hussein is that Hussein killed to keep himself powerful, and Bush has ordered the military to kill enemies of peace, and the effort is not intentionally directed to killing noncombatants. It is not about torture of political enemies. It is not about conquering for monetary gain. It is not about taking over another country. (If it were, why the phuck are we trying to get the people of Iraq to have their OWN government, their OWN police, their OWN military, their OWN right to vote??
You are looking at the situation with an obvious bias against America, if you can't see a difference. Your question is not asked in good faith.
What makes YOU so dishonest?

Saddam Hussein is being prosecuted for crimes against humanity. But, you're right: George Bush should also be prosecuted for crimes against humanity, because Bush has not followed any moral compass with his illegal and unconstitutional war against Iraq, which has resulted in the deaths of thousands of Iraqi citizens and 2,500 American soldiers.
Bush instigated an invasion of Iraq for two reasons: 1) he had to 'get even' for Hussein's humiliating George H.W. Bush during Desert Storm, and 2) Dick Cheney wants all the oil swimming under Iraq's sands for his oil-soaked billionaire buddies.
Those are the ONLY two reasons Bush is murdering and plundering in Iraq. If it was all about destroying a despot or dismantling a dictatorship, why aren't we doing the same thing in other countries? Because those other dictatorships don't have any OIL!
George Bush has never had to tell the truth, or be accountable for anything, in his entire life. He's a spoiled rich kid who gets whatever he wants. That's how and why he won the presidency (even though it took fraudulent actions to make it happen).
The Bush administration has turned our country into a police state wherein citizens aren't trusted. The Bush administration has lied to its constituency, ruined the reputation America has enjoyed as a world leader, and put this country trillions of dollars in debt (which our great-grandchildren will still be paying for generations from now).
The Bush administration has created the largest, most formidable "evil empire" in the world, an empire that has proven itself to be untrustworthy and selfish.

Our current U.S. Congress is the most corrupt, evil, incompetent body ever to occupy the Capitol Building. This Republican-dominated Congress has conspired with George Bush to benefit the rich and powerful, big business, special interests, and lobbyists - all of whom are capable of funneling vast amounts of cash into the GOP. In less than fifty years, this country will be a two-tiered class society: a handful of the very, very rich, and (the rest of us) the very, very poor.
Bush's failed economic policies will only guarantee that more Americans lose their jobs, their financial security and their future. Bush's failed foreign policies only ensures that the great United States will continue to degenerate into nothing better than a third-world country (China will become the next world power, and when that happens China will come over here and simply take our oil, our natural resources, and our property).
Bush will go down in history as the dumbest U.S. President to date. He will be remembered only for how his insane leadership resulted in the further dumbing-down of America citizens; how his mandates turned this country into a police state; and how his impotence as a world leader diminished our global status.
That's what you get when you elect a reckless rich kid who wants to play 'cowboy' after years of drug use and chronic alcohol abuse. George Bush is a moron, plain and simple. Only history will reveal it to be true.
Bush and his cronies should be impeached - or tried of high treason, and - if convicted - should face a firing squad. Surely Satan has reserved a special, oil-saturated corner of Hell where Bush, Cheney and their friends can spend their eternal damnation blaming each other for how they destroyed democracy.

Uh huh. Right.
So fighting those who have attacked you is the same as what Saddam is being charged with? Is that really what you think? Did the Kurds deserve being exterminated? Hopefully you realize that Saddam's regime is directly responsible for over 300,000 Kurdish deaths.
Let that settle in your feeble mind for a few seconds.

sadam killed people in a time of peace, just to see them die. Bush is fighting a war against opression by fundamentalists who want to turn all the good things the people of iraq have done into crimes, and force them back into a time of religious torture and segregation.
