Interesting trivia here:
When the plague passed and it was clear survivors would live, the desire to procreate went into overdrive. People were in the streets screwing everybody and everything. it was at this point when syphilis made the jump from sheep to humans.
Honest no lie. So at least for a little while they ignored religion in favor of reproduction
