And if so, do different fish feed different times, because I know the best time to catch catfish is at midnight/ or noon especially if it is raining?

Yes. And it does depend on the type of fish.

I do not go fishing but I have had tropical fish, and I have studied coral reef fish.

Just like animals, fish are active at certain times of the day. There is a fish called a squirrel-fish that lives in the Caribbean Sea, it is active at night, or nocturnal, and it has big eyes that help because they are able to gather more light.

Fish that are active at dawn and at dusk are called crepuscular.

Some fish even seem to sleep. I had a pet fish called a Paradise fish, closely related to a Betta, which is the Siamese Fighting fish. My Paradise fish would rest at the bottom of her bowl at night. The first few times I saw her this way, I thought she had died. I have also heard that the parrot-fish seems to sleep. It will make a coat of slime before it rests at night. It is thought that this slime protects the parrot-fish from predators.

Because most sharks do not have muscles to move water past their gills, they can never rest, but must continue swimming through the water, because if they stop, they will suffocate.

Fish can also tell the seasons, and find their way back to where they were born. As a fisherman, I am sure that you are familiar with the Salmon runs that occur at certain times of the years in certain places. This makes it easy for the salmon to find partners to mate with, and to find a good place to lay their eggs.

fish do feed at a certain time of day like at day break but that also depends on the type of fish, if its a bass then they will feed early morning and at dusk but if its cool they will feed at noon also but if its hot then they wont feed because they are cold blooded animals but if ur fishing for a crappie then its best to fish for them in winter months thats when they feed the most in a cold climate and they might feed all day unless it get warm out then will not feed
