How Do I write footnotes?

I'm working on a term paper and I need to cite artiles and websites

just go through it and write little lines not big paragraphs on what you think is important and thats how you go about on your footnotes

It seems you have two different questions: (1) How to use a word processor to insert footnotes, and (2) what is their format. The format is usually to a book or article and page (e.g., See David Key, Book Name, page 1 (or pages 3-10). On an immediately following footnote to the same book and page, you can use the term "Ibid" (which means, see the same page as previous footnote).

In Microsoft Word, lick on the Insert menu, Reference, Footnote

1. In page layout view, click where you want to insert the note reference mark.
2. On the Insert menu, click Footnote.
3. Click Footnote or Endnote.
4. Under Numbering, click the option you want.
5. Click OK.
Word inserts the note number and places the insertion point next to the note numbe6. Type the note text.
7. Scroll to your place in the document and continue typing.

if you are writing your term paper by hand then you can mrk the articles cited as 1, 2 , 3
if writing in Microsoft word there is a way to insert foot note under the Edit or Format

it's better if you mentioned the para, the page, the author, the book title, the publisher and the year it was published....
