Female hair loss is treatable. There are several treatments and while no medical treatment works for everybody, the odds are good that one will help. The important thing is to search for a doctor knowledgeable about hair loss – there are a few – have the necessary workup and then choose the treatment which makes sense to you.

I have PCOS and have researched it to death and my understanding is due to the higher levels of testosterone in your body you produce higher levels of a hormone called DHT. This is the same hormone that causes baldness in men. If you are wanting to regrow/thicken your hair you will have to use the same methods balding men use. Rogain makes a womans version of their product and if you have a Walgreens in your area they make a less expensive version of this. If it's mild you may want to try some Vitamin B or Saw Palmetto, but talk to a pharmacist before trying these, you don't want to conflict with any medications you might currently be on to treat your PCOS, If they clear you to take these, then talk to an herbalist at a natural foods store to help you get the right kind and right dosage. If all else fails, talk to your doctor, there are medical ways to regrow hair. Otherwise, if your daring and trendy, go for some wigs! I wish I could! Id love to be able to change my hair with my outfit and mood!!! Good Luck!
