It was written for Julian Lennon John Lennon's son. Paul McCartney wrote it to comfort him, when john broke up with his first wife, Cynthia Powell.

Hey Jude was a song written by Paul McCartney for John Lennon's first son, Julian Lennon. Julian was much closer to Paul than John. Jude apparently is short for Julian.

Ever because i became little and til in the present day i have continuously referred to as my mum "Mummy" and my dad "Daddy". in simple terms because they in no way spoke back to "mum"/"dad". and that is continuously stuck, i assume. same with my siblings, too. I swear anytime my mom calls me at paintings, and that i answer saying "hi, mummy", i'm getting the most strangest seems from my paintings colleagues. They continuously locate that hilarious and frequently take the mic. and that i will surely see why that is humorous lol yet, that is in no way replaced, and that i doubt it is going to. dad and mom will continuously be Mummy and Daddy. And fairly because they received't respond to at least some thing else from their little ones! : )

and that lyric originally went "hey Jules", they changed it later to Jude
